Ireland is blessed with some of the best surfing beaches in the UK.
We have none of the crowds of Newquay, but definitely get as good if not better waves. It's not quite so warm though...
As a club, we surf for fun when there is no whitewater or on weekends away in Donegal or the West of Ireland - none of
us are world class, but we enjoy it.
The key to enjoyable surf kayaking for us is keeping away from swimmers and other surfers, riding the waves and
trying to stay upright!

Surf Kayaks - The best craft for the surf are specialist surf kayaks. Usually made from composites,
these specialist craft are fantastic on a wave, but can be a bit of a challenge to paddle until you get used to them.
Whitewater Kayaks - Alternatively, just jump in your Whitewater boat and head out into the waves!
Most whitewater boats are OK to surf and can be great fun.
